Tata Nano exports start, 498 units shipped

Tata Motors have begun exporting the world’s cheapest car to the rest of the world. The company sent out 498 units of the small car to unknown foreign destinations. The details about the countries where the car has been sent out will be revealed soon.

Tata’s Nano has shown tremendous recovery in the local market. At one point, the Nano was selling some really thin numbers, but an aggressive marketing campaign, along with a variety of other marketing activities brought the sales in line with expectations. As the export numbers for the car grow, the overall sales numbers will start looking even healthier.

Tata Motors is targeting South America, South-East Asia and Africa as its markets. Nepal is also on the export radar.
