Tata Hexa variant wise details explained: All you need to know

Even as Tata Motors is preparing to launch the Hexa SUV early next year, it is making sure that the excitement for the model doesn’t die down in the process. The home-bred brand has revealed the feature list and variant wise break of the upcoming Hexa. Let us tell you about the engine specifications first.

The Hexa will be available with two diesel engine options; a 2.2–litre Varicor 320 engine and a 2.2–litre Varicor 400 engine. The former produces 150 PS with 320 Nm of torque, while the latter is good for 156 PS with 400 Nm of torque. While Varicor 320 engine will be limited to the base trim, the more powerful Varicor 400 engine will be available in the rest of the trim levels. The Hexa will also come with three gearbox options- a five speed manual transmission, a six speed manual transmission and a new six speed automatic transmission. Again, only the base trim of the Hexa with the Varicor 320 engine will receive the five speed manual transmission while the six speed manual and automatic transmissions will be available for the rest of the trim levels with the Varicor 400 engine.

Following is a variant wise break-up of the Tata Hexa with the respective feature list:

  1. Tata Hexa XE (MT) (Manual and Automatic) (7 seater):

The XE is the base trim of the Hexa and comes equipped with features such as smoked projector headlamps, 16 inch steel wheels with 235/70 section tyres, a silver humanity line on the front grille, grey coloured skid plates at the front and rear, black tail appliqué and rear luggage step plate, rear fog lamps, chrome plated twin exhausts and LED tail lamps. Also on offer would be chrome inner door handles, ConnectNext infotainment system by Harman with a 6 speaker system, speed dependent volume control, Distance To Empty (DTE) reading, outside temperature reading, DIS, dual airbags (driver and co-passenger) ABS with EBD, corner stability control,  disc brakes on all four sides, power windows, power steering with adjustable tilt function, rear AC vents on the pillars for the 2nd and 3rd row with blower speed control, power adjustable ORVM’s, remote tail-gate and fuel lid opening, 8 way adjustable driver seat, retractable sun-blinds for the 2nd row, 12V power outlets for first two rows, follow me headlamps, puddle lamps along with a sun-glass holder.

  1. Tata Hexa XM (MT and AT) (7 seater)

In addition to the features available on the XE trim, the Hexa XM and XMA trims comes with a chrome humanity line on the front grille, front and rear skid plates on the bumper finished in a shade of silver, body coloured ORVMs, body coloured outer door handles and  piano black tail appliqué. A few other features on these trims include gear shift knob with chrome inserts, ConnectNext touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, 8 speaker JBL music system, USB/SD card video playback and image viewer, voice command recognition and SMS read-out, ambient lighting with 8 colour options, Driver Information System (DIS) with multi-coloured TFT screen, gear shift indicator and recommender, service reminder, reverse parking sensor, ORVM demister, rear wiper and wash and a rear defogger.

  • The super drive mode is available on the XM trim with the display lighting up in the respective theme colour.
  • The XM trim misses out on the Dynamic function featured in the Super Drive mode.
  • The Sports mode with race car function is available on the XMA trim along with the display lighting up in the theme colour.
  • The XMA trim also receives Hill Hold Control.

  1. Tata Hexa XT (Manual and Automatic) (6 seater)

Over and above the features available on the XM trim, the Hexa XT receives chrome outer door handles, chrome tail gate appliqué, chrome rear luggage step plate, roof rails, front fog lamps, DRLs, faux leather upholstery, leather wrapped steering wheel, and a 10 speaker JBL music system. Also on offer would be side and curtain airbags, reverse parking camera, cruise control, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, power foldable ORVMs, 12V power outlets for all 3 rows and Smart USB charging for the second row.

  • The XT trim can also be had in 4×4 mated to a manual transmission.
  • The XT comes equipped with Electronic Stability program (ESP) with roll-over mitigation, hill descent control, hydraulic brake assist and traction control system.
  • The XT 4×2 will also be available as a 7 seater.
