Cadillac Escalade, arguably the ultimate Gangsta ride, just got hotter! The all-new generation 2015 Cadillac Escalade was unveiled earlier this week at an event in New York City.

As can be seen in the images, the full size SUV now looks more butch and comes with an even wider front grille and new LED headlamps. The car will be offered in two body variants- a regular wheelbase model which measures 5,180mm in length and an extended-length ESV edition which measures 5,698mm in length (that’s considerably longer than the Mercedes S Class LWB’s 5206mm).

The ESV edition offers more space to the third-row passengers, along with offering 60 percent more boot space than the regular model.

Talking about the interiors, they have been put together using top class materials and come loaded to gills with various gadgets. Here is what Cadillac has to say about the interiors of the new Escalade- “real wood combined with premium cut-and-sewn materials and sueded accents, along with ambient lighting”, while also highlighting the fact that, “tight tolerances of the instrument panel and door panels, precision controls and triple-sealed doors were engineered and designed to reinforce a feeling of quality“.

Equipment on offer includes the new touch-sensitive CUE system with an eight-inch display, bluetooth, navigation system, a Driver Awareness package, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Change Alert. Worth mentioning is that instead of the traditional gauges, the car gets a reconfigure-able, high-res 12.3-inch display.

Also, to make the Escalade less popular with thieves, it has been bestowed with intrusion sensor, inclination sensor and glass breakage sensors, and Cadillac’s OnStar Stolen Vehicle Assistance.

The Escalade 2015 is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 direct-injection engine that has a max power of 420hp and peak torque of 460 lb-ft. The motor comes mated to a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed automatic transmission and the SUV can be bought in either 2WD or 4Wd layout.

Prices, variants and fuel economy details will be revealed when the new SUV goes on sale next year.

  1. That is some luxury SUV. It looks menacing. It has the I dont give a damn attitude that is required from an SUV sort of a thing.
