Ssangyong XIV-3 Concept to be Showcased at Paris Motor Show

Ssangyong will showcase a new compact SUV concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show next month. Billed as the ‘XIV-3′, the new car will be a global competitor of the much hyped Ford Ecosport. The XIV-3 will be powered by 1.6-liter gasoline and diesel engines. Safely expect Ssangyong to offer an option of four wheel drive for top end variants. Other than this, the latest concept from the Korean auto manufacturer is close to the production version and might enter the car market as soon as in early 2014. It may be noted that the Korean auto maker is currently in hands of popular Indian car manufacturer Mahindra. It may also be noted that the two are currently working on two new vehicles for Indian market. Also, it is being said the next generation of Scorpio will have considerable input from Ssangyong in its development. It will be interesting to see if Mahindra would employ the design cues and engines from the XIV-3 in the next gen Scorpio.
