Volkswagen India seems to be on a roll! The car maker has been testing various versions of the Polo hatchback across the country, many of which were spied on multiple occasions. Test mules of models such as the three door Polo GTI and the Polo allstar edition have been spotted during the public road tests. Now, another test mule of the Polo has been spied in the open, the Polo 1.4 TSI.

The model will reportedly be powered by a 1.4 litre four cylinder petrol motor that is capable of producing a power output of 145 hp. As the images suggest, this engine comes mated to a five speed manual transmission. The aforementioned engine configuration helps the car sprint from naught to 100 kmph in 8 seconds flat. This would make the Polo 1.4 TSI the fastest hatch in India, a title which is currently with the Fiat Abarth Punto. The former can run from 0-100 kmph in 8.8 seconds.
Another spy image reveals that the model features the German automobile manufacturer’s blue motion technology. This technology, as claimed by the company, enhances the vehicle’s fuel economy. If Volkswagen plans to launch the model in India, the 1.4 TSI Polo will rival the likes of the Fiat Abarth Punto.
