Only few hours back, we reported that the Tata Zest official website has gone LIVE and now, a new batch of Tata Zest images have poured in, hinting that the auto maker is not done with the car’s testing, even when the Tata Zest launch is around the corner. These Tata Zest images have been sent to us by our friend Varun Kulkarni, who took these Zest images on the outskirts of Pune.

Talking about the upcoming model’s name, Tata Motors has said that the name Zest “signifies enthusiasm for life, for the sense of excitement, anticipation, and energy it brings, approaching life as an adventure. It is all about being vivacious and energetic”. The new compact sedan has been designed by Tata Motors’ design studios in Pune (India), Coventry (UK) and Turin (Italy).
The Zest, while being based on the Manza, comes with a new front grille and new projector headlamps. At the rear, the car comes with new wraparound tail lamps. On the inside too, it looks considerably different as it comes with a new dashboard, a new steering wheel, and new rugby shoulder seats.
The new Tata Zest is powered by a new four pot 1.2-liter turbo petrol Revotron engine that has a max power of 85 PS @ 5,000 rpm and peak torque of 140 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm. The diesel variant of the Zest is powered by the acclaimed Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter Quadrajet common rail turbo diesel engine that has a power of 90 PS @ 4,000 rpm and peak torque of 200 Nm @ 1,750-3,000 rpm. The diesel variant will come with F-Tronic 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission.
