Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) recently launched its new 110cc executive commuter motorcycle tagged as the LIVO for the Indian market. Aimed at aspirational first time bikers, the LIVO is priced at INR 52,989 for Self-Drum-Alloy; and INR 55,489 for Self-Disc-Alloy (Ex-showroom, Delhi).

HMSI has some really aggressive growth plans for the Indian market which involves the introduction of 15 new products in 2015, and plans to surprise customers across all segments. This time around, HMSI is set to introduce a new product for the Indian market as images of a new commuter motorcycle, sans the camouflage, have emerged on the internet. This new commuter, reportedly powered by a 125cc motor, is likely to benefit from Honda’s tree-hugging HET tech which would help the motorcycle deliver slightly better fuel efficiency.

In terms of design, this new commuter will receive wind-swept headlights, Honda Unicorn 160-style side-panels, conventional dual shock-absorber suspension, a dual-tone heat shield on the exhaust, and attractive body graphics. While the motorcycle in the images dons a drum brake setup at the front, we expect Honda to also include an optional disc brake setup at a slightly premium price.

We expect Honda to introduce this new motorcycle just before the festive season which is an ideal time for a commuter product to be launched. Prices are expected to hover near the Rs 60,000 mark but Honda may surprise us with an much aggressive tag.

Stay tuned for more details. You can share your views about this motorcycle or any insights that are yet unknown through the comments section below.
