The 2016 edition of Hyundai’s premium SUV, the Tucson was recently spied testing in India giving a hint at an impending launch. The model, which was showcased at the Auto Expo held earlier this year, will be positioned between the Creta and the SantaFe in the Indian portfolio. Now, a special edition of another model from the company’s India range has been spied prior to its launch, this time it’s the limited edition Xcent.

As the Korean automobile manufacturer celebrates its 20th anniversary in India, it plans to launch a special edition of the sub 4-metre sedan. Spy images suggest that the 20th Anniversary Special Edition model of the Xcent will come with a host of cosmetic changes as well as a few more features. Reports suggest that the company is also working on a special edition model of the Grand i10.

It is expected that the special edition Xcent will be based on the S trim, which gives way due to the body coloured door handles and steel wheels. Features on the exterior of the special edition model, as seen in the set of spy images, include chrome strips on the front grille, decals on either sides, a chrome strip above the rear number plate recess that stretches from one tail lamp to another, an integrated spoiler, and the 20th Anniversary Special Edition badge. The changes to the interior are limited to a Blaupunkt touchscreen infotainment system.

Expect no change to the powertrain options on the Xcent as the Special Edition model will be propelled by the same 1.2 litre petrol and 1.1 litre diesel engines that powers the standard models. While the petrol engine produces 83 PS and 113 Nm, the diesel engine produces 72 PS and 180 Nm. Power is sent to the wheels with a 5 speed manual transmission while a 4 speed automatic gearbox is also available as an optional feature on the petrol trim.
