Mercedes-Benz’s all-new S-Class has become a runaway hit; Well, no surprises there, really. Now that we know there will be a roofless variant of the spanking techno-train S-Class, the fun just goes up. The S-Class Cabriolet (convertible, some say), is based on the same platform as that of the S-Class Coupé and is almost the same, except of course, you get access to the vastness of the open sky. The Cabriolet comes with a soft-top roof, which is electrically operated; of course, this is a Mercedes-Benz, so you shouldn’t have to yourself with manual labour.
Though the spy car still wears some stealth clothing, but that’s to be expected. However, it is apparent that the S-Class Cabriolet, borrows most of its design elements from its fixed roof stablemate, the S-Class Coupé. The engines from the Coupé, right from the standard V8 to the mental 5.5-litre and the unhinged 6.0-litre V12 AMG will mostly find their way under the bonnet of this S. The German carmaker has confirmed that the S-Class Cabriolet will be launched later in 2015.
