Shri Ashok Gehlot lays foundation stone for JCB India manufacturing plant

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot laid the foundation stone for JCB India’s fourth manufacturing plant at Jaipur, Rajasthan in the presence of Mr. Alan Blake – CEO, JCB Group and Mr. Vipin Sondhi – MD & CEO, JCB India. With the approximate investment of INR 500 crores; JCB India will set up its manufacturing facility on a 115 acre site.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Ashok Gehlot, Chief Minister of Rajasthan said “It’s a pleasure for me to lay the foundation stone of the manufacturing plant being set up by JCB India. I strongly believe that this premium development will contribute towards strengthening the manufacturing base of the state. I would like to wish great progress to JCB in Rajasthan.”

Sir Anthony Bamford, Chairman JCB had met the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot during his India visit to discuss the way forward.

Shri. Rajendra Pareek, Minister of Industries said on the occasion, “I am very happy that JCB has decided to have its fourth plant in Rajasthan and I assure the management of JCB that the Govt. of Rajasthan will extend its full support to their investment at all stages as per their requirements”

Shri. Alan Blake, CEO, JCB Group said on the occasion, “India is a very important market for JCB and our investment in Jaipur is a vital next step we’re taking to further strengthen our position in this growing market. We look forward to providing products of the highest quality with the industry-leading service to our Indian customers from Rajasthan in the same way as we already do from our world-class factories in Haryana and Maharashtra.”

Shri. C. K. Mathew, Chief Secretary, said on the occasion,”Coming of JCB is a significant milestone in the sustained and ongoing efforts of the Govt .of Rajasthan to bring industries, specially manufacturing giants here”

Shri Sunil Arora, Chairman RIICO & Additional Chief Secretary – Industries said, “ RIICO has been involved with JCB’s project for Jaipur since its inception. It is indeed extremely gratifying that they have reached the day of laying the foundation stone of JCB’s world class plant right here in Jaipur.”

JCB has a very robust & growing business in India and we’re making investments to drive sustainable long-term growth.” commented Mr. Vipin Sondhi, MD & CEO, JCB India. “After a decade of continued investment by the JCB Group in Ballabgarh and Pune, I’m thrilled that Jaipur will become home to the company’s next world-class manufacturing facility.”

JCB’s has three world class factories in the country one in Ballabgarh, Haryana near New Delhi and two in Pune. The Ballabhgarh Plant is the world’s largest Backhoe Loader manufacturing facility which also manufactures the JCB Liftall ‘pick-&-carry’ crane.

Out of the two world class plants in Pune; one manufactures export oriented fabrications and components and the other manufactures state of the art heavy equipment like Tracked excavators, Wheeled Loaders and Compactors. JCB Pune has the largest Parts & Training Center in India. The facility also has a state-of-the-art India design centre that continually innovates to develop India specific products along with meeting the global design requirements.

JCB is also using these extensive manufacturing facilities in India to export to Eastern Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia.
