Shell organizes trackside laboratory tour at the Indian Grand Prix 2013

Shell in India recently organized a Shell trackside laboratory tour at the Indian Grand Prix 2013 with Shell Scientist Guy Lovett, Shell Formula One Technology Manager. The activity was conducted to demonstrate the technology and innovation that goes into fuels and lubricants that Shell works exclusively with Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team to craft.

Guy Lovett is Shell’s Technology Manager for Ferrari. Based at the Shell Global Solutions technical laboratory in Chester in the UK, and with regular visits to Ferrari’s Gestione Sportiva in Maranello, Lovett oversees the Shell Technical Partnership with Ferrari to ensure that both organisations’ development programmes are fully integrated and move forward seamlessly.

Shell provides the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team with a full analysis of fuel and oil samples at every race, using cutting-edge technology and expertise from the Shell Trackside Laboratory, located within the Scuderia Ferrari team’s compound in the Formula One paddock. Throughout the race weekend, Shell scientists run tests on over 70 fuel and oil samples used by the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One team to ensure that the drivers are able to get peak performance on the track.
