Scania bags the Prime Mover of the year 2012 award

Scania has bagged the prestigious Apollo CV Award for Prime Mover of the year 2012 at the annual Apollo CV Awards this year. The award ceremony held in Mumbai on Monday, 7 January 2013 was attended by the most prominent representatives of the commercial vehicle industry.

The Prime Mover of the Year is the Scania R 500 6×4 heavy-duty puller in ‘the more than 40 tonnes GCW’ segment. The award was collected by Sivakumar V, Sales Director, Scania Commercial Vehicles India along with Suresh Ekambaram Director After Sales and Saravanan Malayandi Pre Sales Manager. In his thanks note to the august gathering, Sivakumar thanked Nextgen Publishing and the jury of Apollo CV awards for this recognition.

Expressing his pleasure, Sivakumar V, Director Sales, Scania Commercial Vehicles India said “This award is testimony to our investment to deliver the best products and the best product support in the industry as we continue to expand into global markets. It further establishes the success of our strategy to redefine India’s trucking industry by partnering with local experts to deliver practical and customer-friendly innovations tailored to the local market.”

Scania is investing about INR 2.5 billion in an industrial facility in Bengaluru this year. Scania’s ambition is to sell about 2,000 trucks, 1,000 buses and 1,500 engines per year in the Indian market within the next five years.
