Rolls-Royce has released the first teaser images of their new Dawn convertible. Slated to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the Dawn is essentially a Wraith convertible with a modified rear end that has been designed to accommodate a retractable soft top.
The Rolls-Royce Dawn will go on sale early next year and is expected to be powered by a twin-turbo 6.6-liter V12 engine that produces 632 PS and 800 Nm of torque. It enables the Wraith to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, so expect the Dawn to be slightly slower than the Wraith.
In a statement, Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes had earlier said “The Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one’s senses and a burst of sunshine. It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s social hotspots.”
