Rolls Royce is all set to launch its latest convertible, the Dawn in India. Based on the Wraith Coupe, the model is said to be the most silent convertible ever made. The model, which was originally showcased at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, will now make its India debut on the 24th of June.

Said to be the second convertible from the company since the Phantom Drophead Coupe, the soft top of this luxury automobile is said to retract in a matter of 22 seconds. This, however can be done only up to speeds of 50 km/hr. Although based on the Wraith, the manufacturers claim that it shares only 20% of its design elements. Hence, 80% of the bodywork is said to be new and receives an array of new features.

These features include BMW’s iDrive system with a bespoke 16 speaker audio system, a new suspension setup with new air springs and revised anti roll bars. Also on offer is the satellite aided transmission with GPS. The 20 inch rims are wrapped in run flat tyres that allow the vehicle to ply up to 80 km/hr for a distance of 160 kms. The 21 inch wheels are also available as an optional feature.

Powering the Dawn is the 6.6 litre V12 twin turbocharged petrol engine that produces a power output of 563 hp at 5250 rpm while the peak torque of 780 Nm comes up at 1500 rpm. This engine comes mated to an eight speed ZF automatic transmission. Speeds of 0-100 km/hr can be achieved in 4.9 seconds.
