The process of reporting your stolen vehicles will be made easy soon as the police officials have developed a custom app that will provide assistance to citizens to report such incidents. The news was made public by State Director General of Police Praveen Dixit while addressing the media at Police Gymkhana. He announced that they are going to introduce and launch a new mobile app called the ‘evahanchori’ (e-vahan chori) app that will help the public to register their complaints without visiting the police station.

With an aim to make police procedures easy and to provide immediate support to the citizens, the Police of Maharashtra has been taking numerous steps and the evahanchori app is a part of the initiative. Also, the PoliceMitra Maharashtra initiative, started by the law enforcement department of the state, has helped the cops to connect with the citizens. Through this programme, the police department is teaming up with the citizens and enrolling willing individuals as volunteers. These individuals can help cops during curfews, traffic congestion, and such duties. The top cops claim that around two lakhs volunteers have teamed up with the department and are working with them.

As per the officials, the evahanchori app will be made available on mobile platforms soon. For now, there are no further details made available as to what regions will it cater and what mobile platforms (Android, iOS, and Windows) will the app be provided on. Till then, park your vehicles in shade and a secure place. Don’t leave your car unattended in unfamiliar areas and don’t trust strangers with your car.
