Renault reveals its ‘DeZir’ Concept Car

Renault has released a few pictures, videos and details of its new concept car christened ‘DeZir’ (pronounced as desire in French). This concept car is scheduled for a formal debut at the upcomming Paris Motor Show. This car is the first creation by Laurens van den Acker who is currently head of the manufacturer’s design team. According to the official press release, the key elements of the ‘DeZir’ are ‘simple’, ‘sensuous’,’warm’ and meant to evoke ‘movement, sensuality and emotion’.

The ‘DeZir’ is a coupe with two doors than can accomodate two persons. On the exterior front it gets massive 21′ wheels along with muscular wheel arches along with a full width front air intake/grille which streches from the centre to both ends. While the interior treatment is meant to evoke the feeling of floating on a cloud acoording to Stéphanie Petit who designed the concept car’s color and materials.

This concept car will be an all-electric vehicle powered by a mid-mounted motro developing a max power of 110kW (150PS) and max torque of 226Nm. The electric motor will be powered by a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery which will be vertically placed behind the seats. The car is likely to cover around 160 kilometres on a full charge.
