Renault Pulse to become dearer by Rs.12000 from 8th March

We have been talking a lot about the Pulse hatchback from Renault but it won’t hurt to repeat that the Pulse is basically a re-badged Nissan Micra but with a new fascia and few other minor changes. The car was recently launched with a starting price tag of Rs. 5.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Before Renault Micra Pulse could establish itself properly in the market, the manufacturer has decided to revise the prices of this car. The Pulse will get dearer by 2% from 8th of next month. Simply speaking, the car will become expensive by about Rs.12000.

Talking about the price hike, Marc Nassif, Managing Director, Renault India Pvt Ltd, said,”The Pulse has been received very well by our customers and we have received a large number of enquiries from potential customers. The Pulse represents the aspirations and needs of present day customers and comes loaded with features, which provide an extremely good value for money proposition. In the face of rising input cost we have now no option but to pass on a part of the cost to our customers although the Pulse still remains as one of the most competitive in its segment on all features including the price“.

In the face of rising input cost …… Frankly, I am quite tired of hearing this from different manufacturers at least half a dozen times a month. The Pulse comes with only an oil burner. As per ARAI, the 64 PS 1.5 litre dCI K9K engine from Micra stretches a litre of dirtier fuel to 23.02 kms.
