The Renault Duster 4X4 will very soon hit the showroom floors in India. It will then become the range-topping model of the Duster SUV lineup in India.
A Four-Wheel Drive Duster will definitely possess substantially improved off-roading capabilities over the regular ones out there. While the Duster is a Compact SUV offering the best of both worlds in the form of good driving dynamics of a hatchback and the ground clearance as well as visibility of a SUV, it might not satiate the true-blue off-roading lovers. Hence, a Four Wheel Drive will come handy.
A Four Wheel Drive transmits power from the engine equally to the four wheels. Hence, it decreases the risk of any one of the wheels losing traction in unchartable terrain like inclines or loose gravel. Consequently, the vehicle becomes capable of lording over off-road terrain.
The Renault Duster 4X4 will be powered by the 1.5 Litre K9K diesel engine used on some other models of the current Duster lineup. It will produce a peak power output of 108.5 bhp. This engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission which will vector the torque equally between all four wheels. Internationally, the Four Wheel Drive variant of the Duster is available under the Dacia brand, with both diesel as well as petrol engine options. However, the carmaker is expected to introduce the diesel version of the Duster 4X4 in India.
Interiors of the Renault Duster 4X4 will be similar to those of the top-end RXZ Diesel variant models of the current lineup. The list will include :
