Eicher Motors owned subsidiary Royal Enfield has discreetly discontinued one of its most affordable products, the Royal Enfield Electra. The company has removed the model from its product portfolio that can be viewed on their official website. The brand has not officially confirmed the development.

Being one of the most affordable of the lot, it is likely that the Royal Enfield could have shelved the Electra product owing to the lower profit margin as compared to other motorcycles from its product range. The Electra was the first model that was launched by the company after their current CEO – Siddharth Lal took charge in 1995-1997.

The Electra reportedly went on to become one of the best selling models of the company, accounting for more than half of the company’s sales. Now, with higher demand for other variants, the Electra saw the end of its life at the production line. The company’s current product range includes the Continental GT, Thunderbird series, Classic series, Standard series and the Himalayan.

It probably isn’t all that bad as yet though, for you can quickly head to your nearest dealer and you might just be lucky enough to find a few units of the Electra in stock if you have your mind on getting yourself one of these models.
