Porsche has unveiled new Platinum Edition models of its mid-size luxury SUV – the Cayenne. The carmaker will roll out Platinum editions of the four Cayenne Models – Cayenne, Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne Diesel 245hp and the Cayenne S E-hybrid. These specials will be available on sale only for a limited period of time and will be out in the second half of 2016. The Platinum Edition treatment will not just be skin deep but also bring in some improvements and new features.
On the visual front, there are no changes to the design and body work. The exclusive Platinum Edition will be rounded out by a high gloss black exterior trim package. The standard Solid black and white paint finishes, with Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White, or Rhodium Silver metallic paints will be available. The special edition models will have the wheel arch extensions painted in body colour and ride on large 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels.
The interior will feature most of the special treatment and get eight-way electrically adjustable seats draped in leather and Alcantara panels. The head rests will get Porsche crest and the stainless steel door sills get an illuminated ‘Platinum Edition’ badge. The Platinum Edition models will come equipped with the latest gen Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system. The PCM system will include navigation, Connect Plus module, and a surround sound system from Bose.
Other standard equipment for the Cayenne Platinum Edition includes Bi-Xenon headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Power Steering Plus, and front and rear ParkAssist. The exterior mirrors and rear-view mirror are equipped with an automatic anti-glare feature as standard, while dark-tinted privacy glass. The plug-in Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition model also comes with auxiliary cabin conditioning which allows the vehicle to be programmed to use the heater or air-conditioning to pre-condition the cabin before the driver enters the vehicle. Once out in the market the Platinum editions will be priced tad higher than the regular models.
