Polaris, one of the top ATV makers of the world have launched their range of ATVs in India. The price of the company’s off-road products will range from Rs 2.4 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. The products portfolio of the company comprises ATVs covering a wide range of applications – from entry level recreational ATVs to advanced machines meant for specialty tasks. Engines powering the ATVs range from a measly 50cc to a very respectable 800cc. The company was expected to launch its products in India for some time, and the expectation was that it will launch only a couple of products. However, the ATV maker has surprised one and all by launching a multitude of products covering various applications.
The Polaris range of ATVs in India includes the SportsMan XP with 850cc engine, the 2-UP with a capability to seat two, the Ranger and small recreational ATVs.
Apart from Polsaris, Adventure Wheels is another company which is into the business of ATVs in India. As the disposable income of individual goes up, and people take to lifestyle activities, the sales of ATVs and other such recreational vehicles is expected to see an upward trend. Keeping the fact in mind, the company is looking at India as a very important market and plans to set up a R&D center with design and development capabilities in India
“We will develop future products keeping in mind Indian conditions. Products in India will be different from those in the US. Our future product development will also consider specifically the Indian market,” said Mike Dougherty, VP, Polaris Industries.
