We reported about Piaggio’s plans for India from the Auto Expo held in January this year. Now, the news is that the Italian two wheeler manufacturer will be launching the Vespa brand in country on 26 April 2012. This launch event is scheduled to take place in Mumbai and following the event will be the inauguration of the Vespa plant in Baramati on 28th. The inauguration will take place in presence of Mr. Matteo Colaninno, Group President, Piaggio. Motoroids have received an official intimation from Piaggio in this regard
Piaggio’s Indian operations will commence with a dealer network of 50 dealers across the nation. The Indian innings of the popular scooter manufacturer will begin with the launch of Vespa LX125 scooter.
