Here’s some more good news for the performance bike enthusiasts, especially for the fans of Italian metal. The iconic Moto Guzzi brand is here in India. Parent company Piaggio, which owns Aprilia has co-branded its Gurgaon Aprilia showroom with Moto Guzzi. The bookings for Moto Guzzi bikes are on, and the bikes will begin finding their way home to the owners in about a month’s time. In about that time, the service station for these machines would also be ready at Guragaon. Aprilia has another showroom in Pune but the roll out for the Moto Guzzi brand is happening fitst at the Gurgaon outlet, which has a wider customer base.
Aprilia’s Gurgaon Dealership, called Northwards Motors, will bring the Griso, Breva and the V7 nameplates to India. Of these, the dealership is already taking bookings for the Griso 1200 8V with the first deliveries expected in early 2013. Here we have some images and tech specs of the Moto Guzzi models for India

This is a great move by Piaggio India. It offers more choices to the well-heeled motorcycle enthusiasts, to those looking to buy a different type of bike.
I hope they offer a good sales and after-sales experience as well, considering the horror stories one can hear from customers of certain brands. If Piaggio wants to forge a good impression on the enthusiast crowd, they should have a top-notch team taking care of the sales and service of Aprilia and Moto Guzzi. Enriching the after-sales experience is the best way to assure a customer's loyalty to a brand.
