With almost every carmaker taking a plunge into the fast emerging compact SUV segment, we are getting to see a new mini-SUV every month! While we have been reporting in great detail about the Ford EcoSport compact SUV, it has now emerged that European car maker Peugeot, which might enter India in near future, is almost ready with its 2008 Compact SUV.
Seen here are the first photographs of the 2008 and from what can be made out, the car will measure around 4.15m in length and 1.75m in width. The 2008 will be positioned below the 3008 and there also have been various reports indicating that Peugeot might also come up with a two door version of the 2008 and sell it under the 1008 moniker.
The Peugeot 2008 Compact SUV will get a range of petrol and diesel engines viz. a 110hp 1.2L Turbocharged petrol, 136hp 1.2L Turbocharged petrol, 156hp 1.6L Turbocharged petrol, 92hp 1.6L e-HDI diesel and 115hp 1.6L e-HDI diesel.
The Peugeot 2008 will debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March and will go on sale in various markets in the second half of this year.
