It is official! The Verito based hatchback from Mahindra has been christened as Verito Vibe.
The Verito Vibe will battle it out against the high selling Maruti Suzuki Swift, the Chevrolet Sail and the Hyundai i20. In all probability, the upcoming hatchback will be launched next month and is most likely to be promoted as all new car instead of a variant of the Verito. The Verito hatchback is expected to be priced in the vicinity of INR 5.5-6 lakhs. Powering the Verito Vibe will be the 1.5 litre Renault K9K diesel engine that also powers sedan variant. The Vibe will measure less than 4 meters in length and will hence benefit from excise duty relaxations by Govt of India.
Speaking on the ‘Verito Vibe’, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said “Customer centric innovation has always been at the heart of any product development at the Mahindra Group. The Verito Vibe marks our entry in the high volume sub 4 metre segment. While developing this product we have paid particular attention to making this car look different and we are sure that it will appeal to customers with its young and sporty looks and that too without compromising the benefits which our existing Verito has to offer. “
Unlike the Swift and the Brio, which later spawned a sedan sibling, Verito Vibe comes to us years after the Verito sedan was first launched (as Logan) in India. Also unlike the Verito, which is basically the last generation Logan and comes from Dacia, the upcoming Verito Vibe is developed, designed and planned by the boffins at Mahindra and Mahindra.

In all probability, it would be similar to the Verito’s fuel economy. Expect marginally more.
I haven’t seen any car of Mahindra that has made an impact. Hope this one do some good. But can you tell more about its mileage ?
