Our friends at Nissan India have confirmed that the Nissan Terrano Compact SUV, the second SUV from the Indian subsidiary of Nissan (the first being the X-Trail), would be unveiled in India on August 20.
The Terrano has been spotted testing several times and the spy pics of the upcoming Nissan have revealed a lot about the car’s styling. Also playing a major role in the revelation of Terrano’s exterior design are a couple of sketches from Nissan.
While the Nissan Terrano will be largely based on the Renault Duster, it will boast of an exterior styling that won’t be totally similar to that of the donor car. The Terrano will sport a new front fascia that will include a new bumper, revised headlights and a new front grille. Also, the car will be seen sporting a slightly different surface treatment on its sides.
The Terrano will also get a new tailgate, rear bumper and new tail lamps.
Speaking about the styling of the Nissan Terrano, CEO and President of Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd, Kenichiro Yomura, recently commented, “You can see from the sketch that Terrano has a bold and distinctive design that I am confident will appeal to our growing customer base in India, as will its driving performance and range of other features that will be revealed at a later date.”
The upcoming Duster-based Nissan Terrano will be priced at a slight premium than the car it is based on and will hence, come with a higher price tag. Our guess is that the Terrano could be priced around INR 50,000 to 75,000 higher than the Renault Duster.
