Nissan Terrano Duster Pics

Nissan Terrano to have a sub-INR 10 lakhs price tag. Booking commences on Sept1

After about a gazillion spy pics and rumors, Nissan India today unveiled the Terrano compact crossover at an event held in Mumbai. The 2014 Nissan Terrano is based on the highly successful Dacia/Renault Duster and would be seen rivalling the high selling Ford EcoSport and its own down vehicle in Indian car market.

As we said earlier, the Terrano is basically a rebadged Duster, with even the engine options most likely to be carried over from the parent car. However, the Terrano moniker is now four generations old and the earlier gen was sold as the Ford Maverick in some countries.

The Terrano’s front end looks very unlike that of the Duster and stays true to the official design sketches that we saw earlier. The Terrano’s front end features a new bumper, revised headlights, revised hood and a new front grille.

The car also gets some changes made to the sheet metal on its sides. The Terrano’s sides will boast of a straight crease in the lower half of body, unlike the Duster, which has an inverted-U like crease.

Also, the car gets different looking alloy wheels, slightly different roof rails and blacked out B Pillars.

The car also seems to have got a different audio system interface.

The Terrano will be available in Fire Red, Sterling Grey, Blade Silver, Sapphire Black, Pearl White and Bronze Grey exterior body color options.

Bookings for the new car will commence on September 1 and the deliveries are likely to begin in October. Nissan India has said that the Terrano will have a sub-INR 10 lakhs price tag and we feel that a competitive price tag for the Terrano could very well put an end to the dream run by Ford EcoSport.
