Regulars here would know that we have been regular with reporting about the soon to be launched Nissan Evalia facelift. While the Indian subsidiary of Nissan will showcase the Evalia facelift tomorrow, units of refreshed MPV have already started reaching dealerships.
The flagship trim level of the updated Evalia will come with a rear wiper (with washer) and new design 15 inch alloy wheels. It may be noted that the pre facelift model boasts of 14 inch alloy wheels. Also, the refreshed Evaila gets sliding rear windows. Nissan India has adopted a rather strange mechanism for opening the rear windows. The windows need to be pushed forward to open and the opening area is not much.
The Evaila also gets captain seats and a roof mounted AC blower for second row. The updated Evaila will be launched with a new top end variant, which will be called as the XV-S and will have a price of INR 10.55 lakhs (ex-Showroom, New Delhi). The XV-S will be almost INR 30000 pricier than the XV variant. It is being said that existing variants of the MPV will see a slight price increase with the advent of the facelift.
It would be interesting to see if the Nissan Evalia, bestowed with new features and a new top end variant, would be able to enjoy a better showing on the sales charts. What do you feel? Are these changes sufficient to change the fate of the slow selling MPV?
