New Tata Nano Twist With Power Steering to Launch on January 15

People who wanted to go for the Tata Nano, but were put off with the heavy non-power assisted steering, can now buy the Nano with a power steering. Tata Motors will be launching the Nano Twist with a power steering on January 15th next year.

The Nano Twist will get the power steering which has been developed by ZF. The car will be priced at approximately Rs 15,000 more than the current top-end Nano.

A power steering was needed by the masses as the Nano has is mostly used in cities, and the heavy steering was a complaint which Tata has addressed in the Nano Twist. Tata hopes that the introduction of power steering will make the ailing model a lot more user-friendly, especially for women drivers.

Tata Motors recently launched the Nano eMax CNG.  Also, Tata will be launching a new Nano by August 2014, which would feature a openable hatch.

Earlier, Mr Karl Slym had also stated that the Tata Nano Diesel will be launched in the current financial year. We can expect Tata to showcase the Nano Diesel at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo in February.

The Nano is currently available in three variants, STD (Rs 1,50,000), CX (Rs 1,98,000) and LX (Rs 2,23,500). The car is powered by a 624cc petrol engine that puts out 37.4 bhp and is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the Tata Nano Twist.

  1. Hopefully, the addition of power steering might allow a slight ‘twist’ to the nano’s dwindling sales figures
