The all-new Ford Figo and Figo Sedan have been unveiled for South Africa. To be manufactured in and exported from Ford India’s recently inaugurated, INR 6000 Crore, Sanand plant in Gujarat, the Figo twins are expected to arrive in South Africa in the final quarter of 2015.

Two models will be offered in SA – a five-door hatchback and a full size four-door sedan; the latter being longer than than the sub-4 meter long Figo Aspire compact sedan, which has been specifically designed for India. Also, Ford India won’t be introducing the full-size sedan locally anytime soon.

Though technical details haven’t been disclosed yet, both petrol and diesel models will be available, along with a choice of manual or automatic transmissions. For the Indian market, the new Figo duo are expected to use a 1.2-liter TiVCT petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel engine, along with a six-speed, dual clutch automatic transmission.

Styling will remain the same, as previewed by the Figo Aspire, the main highlights being the trapezoidal grille and elongated headlamps.
