Evident from the pics, this Sport model of the Range Rover borrows design cues from the baby Range Rover Evoque.   Range Rover Sport shares its platform with the Range Rover and also undergoes a massive weight loss due to the generous use of aluminium for its construction. It loses a total of 420 kgs of weight when compared to its predecessor which helps tremendously in improving the performance, driving dynamics and also the fuel efficiency of this ultimate luxury SUV.

Engine options will include the 5.0 litre supercharged petrol V8 and also 3.0 litre V6 diesel.  The diesel engine as usual for any car in India, will be more favorable with masses.  The 3.0-liter V6 diesel block produces 292 hp and a healthy  600 Nm of torque.  0-100 km/h mark is dismissed in a scant  7.2 seconds while the top-speed is restricted to  222 km/h.  Average fuel efficiency is claimed at 13.33 km/l which is decent for a SUV of this size and weight. The 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine produces 510 hp and decent 625 Nm of torque.  0-100 km/h mark is dismissed in 5.3 seconds and the Sport will accelerate to its restricted  top-speed of 250 km/h.

The Range Rover Sport was launched at the New York Motor Show and is a 5 seater. Optional seats can also make space for more two.
