Polaris-owned, Indian Motorcycles has brought a new player into the Indian market with the launch of the all-new 2016 Indian Springfield. Named after the birthplace of the brand, the 2016 Springfield is a performance cruiser that will roll out with a price tag of INR 30.6 Lakhs. The official bookings have already commenced and the deliveries will begin from August 2016 onwards.
The 2016 Indian Springfield is propelled by a Thunder Stroke 111 engine that delivers 138.9 Nm of torque at 2600 rpm. Its newly designed chassis, cartridge forks and an air adjustable rear shock with 11.43 cm of travel is claimed to is claimed to handle a wide load range without breaking a sweat. The power cruiser is also provided with a host of accessories such as a tall and low windshield, heated driver and passenger seats, soft lowers, a 64.3 Litres accessory trunk and heated grips. The Springfield features a quick-release windscreen and saddlebags that can be removed to have a classic look. Also, the split seat can be trimmed down to create a low solo look.
The 2016 Indian Springfield is developed with a new trunk-compatible chassis that is said to provide the cruiser with a higher loading capacity and an improved touring experience without sacrificing handling prowess. The 2016 Indian Springfield sports a bespoke quick-release windshield that creates a large air pocket for rider and passenger convenience. It features remote locking hard bags and adjustable passenger floorboards along with real leather seating, high-resolution Anti-Lock Brakes, tire pressure monitoring, electronic cruise control, and a powerful headlight and dual driving lights. Standard front and rear highway bars allow mounting of accessories and offer valuable protection from tip-overs. Brightly chromed forks, headlight housing, fender trim, engine covers, exhaust and handlebars with internal wiring bring the shine along for the ride.
