VW Group owned German performance car maker Porsche bestowed its Panamera sedan with a facelift for 2014, and now, it is busy readying a similar update for its Cayenne SUV, which will be launched sometime later this year. The 2015 Cayenne facelift is likely to be unveiled either at 2014 New York Auto Show or the 2014 New York Auto Show, both of which will be held next month. It is being said that the facelift will be responsible for bringing the styling of the Cayenne SUV in line with the Macan and this facelit should enable the ageing car to soldier on for some more years, before the all new model is out sometime in 2017.

Visual updates for the 2015 Cayenne would include revised bumpers that would come with redesigned intakes and new headlights that will contain LED fixtures for DRLs. The taillights, along with the exhaust pipes, too seem to have undergone a change.

The biggest however, would be the replacement of the naturally aspirated V8 engine by a new 3.0 litres, twin-turbo V6 petrol motor that will have a max power of 420hp. Also likely is the introduction of a new 2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid model. This model would share its motor with the updated 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid, which means it would get a V6 petrol motor paired with an electric motor for a combined power output of 416 horsepower. The Cayenne’s 240 hp diesel motor too could be replaced by a 300hp motor from Panamera Diesel. The Cayenene Turbo S will get a 570 hp engine, again for Panamera Turbo S.
