We are currently just a few minutes away from the 2013 Nissan Micra India launch and we just can’t wait to know the price at which the Indian subsidiary of the popular Japanese auto maker would introduce the updated car in the highly competitive B segment of our car market.

The thoroughly updated 2013 Nissan Micra brings along with it many styling tweaks for the exteriors. As can be made out in the first glance itself, the biggest visual change lies in the car’s front fascia, which will now come with a new bumper, a really bold grille and a new set of stylish headlamps. The new bumper makes the car a wee bit longer than the outgoing model.

Other visual changes to the B segment contender include a set of ‘Signature Nissan’ alloys, revised motif for the rear taillamps with LED fixtures and a revised rear bumper.

The interiors too have been updated and the car gets a Piano black theme and new door pads.

Powering the updated 2013 Nissan Micra facelift is the same set of petrol and diesel motors that power the outgoing model. The petrol variant of the new 2013 Micra is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, petrol engine that has a max power output of 76ps@ 6000rpm and a max torque of 104Nm@4000rpm.

The petrol variant gets a new CVT gearbox. This CVT ‘box has been derived from the one on the Sunny. This gearbox enables the car to deliver a slightly increased power output of 77ps. The CVT variant also endows the car with a fuel economy of 19.34 kmpl, which is slightly more than manual variant’s 18.44 kmpl.

The diesel variant of the car continues to be powered by the Renault sourced 1.5-litre K9K diese engine that has a max power of 64ps@4000 RPM and a peak torque output of 160nm@2000rpm.

The new updated Micra no longer has the ‘dolly car’ appearance of the outgoing model and comes across as more appealing. The car also benefits from additional features and joins the likes of the Honda Brio by getting an automatic variant.
