We reported in detail when Acura released details on the all new TLX Prototype at the ongoing NAIAS 2014.  CLICK HERE For the Most Comprehensive LIVE coverage of the NAIAS (Detroit Motor Show). Now, here are some images of the new Acura TLX, brought to you LIVE from the ongoing motor show in Detroit.

The new Acura TLX prototype you see here in these images looks quite production ready and in all chances, the production model would closely resemble the new TLX prototype. The TLX could go on sale in the last quarter of next year and will replace both the Acura TL and the Acura TSX in North American car market. The Acura TLX will be sold with two engine options- a 2.4-liter inline-four, mated to an 8-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) and a 3.5-liter V6, mated to a new 9-speed automatic transmission. The latter would also get an all wheel drive system as an option.

This all-new Acura TLX is the perfect blend of style and muscle with its elegant, well-proportioned exterior that cloaks the true sport sedan chassis and powertrain beneath,” said Mike Accavitti, senior vice president, American Honda Motor, Co., Inc. “The sporty characteristics that customers found appealing in the TSX are even more pronounced in this aggressive new TLX.

The upcoming Acura TLX is being developed at Acura’s Los Angeles Design Studio and will be manufactured at Honda’s Marysville plant in Ohio
