Ford India recently launched the Ecosport facelift in India and now it seems that the 2017 model (facelift) is already underway. A test mule of the upcoming Ecosport facelift was spotted doing the rounds and images of its interior as well as exterior have now surfaced on the web. This 2017 spec model is expected to come to South America as well as India around the end of 2016 or later while the Euro spec model will receive the update first.

The exteriors of the Ecosport facelift feature a headlight setup that seems to have been inspired from its elder sibling, the Endeavour. The fog lamps are expected to receive some design tweaks while the position of the fog-lamps seem to have moved up a bit. The rims now sport a new design, which will most likely make it to the production line. Reports suggest that unlike the Euro spec model, the spare wheel will be externally mounted as it currently is.

Coming to the interiors, the Ecosport facelift receives a refreshed instrument cluster with the twin pods reducing in size, making way for a larger digital display. The fuel gauge now resides inside the speedometer pod while the tachometer limit rises by 2000 rpm taking it to a total of 8000 rpm from the current model that displays 6000 rpm. The tachometer pod now also makes space for the temperature gauge.

The steering mounted controls on the conventional 3 spoke steering wheel are now seen on either sides of the steering as opposed to only the left side on the current model. The infotainment system receives a full colour display that replaces the single blue coloured display in the outgoing model.

Powering the Ecosport facelift is expected to be the same 1.0 litre Ecoboost and the 1.5 litre Ti- VCT petrol engine apart from the 1.5 litre TDCi diesel powertrain. Transmissions duties are excpected to be taken care of by the same 5 speed manual transmission apart from an AMT gearbox.
