The Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S facelift models have been unveiled ahead of their scheduled launch at the upcoming Detroit show,USA in January. Both the 911 Turbo and Turbo S will be available in coupe and cabriolet versions. Both these models, which represent the top of the 911 range now boast 20 hp more power than its predecessors.
The 911 Turbo now produces 533 hp of power from its 3.8 litre engine while the Turbo S produces 572 hp of power and both run from 0-100 km/hr in 3.0 seconds and 2.9 seconds respectively. The top speed is now increased with the Turbo achieving 320 km/hr while the Turbo S achieves 330 km/hr. The engines of both the cars are mated to a seven speed PDK Dual Clutch Automatic gearbox.
The exterior changes include a new front bumper with LED’s, a redesigned rear bumper, a new engine cover, tail pipes and new 20 inch alloy wheels with 7 spokes for the Turbo and 10 spoke centre lock ones for the Turbo S. The interiors gets a new steering wheel with an integarted ‘Mode Switch’ that includes Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual modes. Another new feature is the Sport Response button at the centre of the mode switch. Inspired by motor sport, at the push of a button it pre-conditions the engine and transmission for optimum responsiveness. In this state, the vehicle can produce instantaneous acceleration for up to 20 seconds, such as during an overtaking manoeuvre.
A Bose audio system comes as standard, while a Burmester audio system comes as an optional feature. The newly-developed Porsche Communication Management Infotainment system also comes as a standard feature. Safety features include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Park Assist for the front and rear including reversing camera, Porsche Vehicle Tracking anti-theft system and radar based Lane Change Assist.
The new Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S models go on sale today, and deliveries will start in UK at the end of January 2016. The model range is as follows:
