More details about the Ford Ecosport emerge

Only a couple of days back ago, we reported in detail about the sighting of the production model of the Ford Ecosport. As the American manufacturer had promised, the production model doesn’t seems to be too different from the concept that was unveiled in India in January. That said, we would have been happier if we had got the concept’s LEDs on the production ready car. We have also been reporting about the interiors of this car and how they borrow a fair bit from the B-Max and the Fiesta. Now, some more details of this upcoming Ford have been received.

The production model’s wheelbase measures 2490 mm. On comparing the production ready model with the concept, the width of the car has been increased to 1750 mm and height has been reduced by 30 mm to 1650 mm. The new car comes with tasty looking 17 inch mag wheels shod with 205/55 spec Michelin tires. As we earlier reported, the  much talked about 1 litre EcoBoost engine from Ford will deebut in this car but the car will also have an option of Ford’s 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre Duratec engines for the international market. If rumors are to be believed, the new Ford will come with 4wd and a multi-link rear suspension. Among the host of safety features, the car will boast of 7 airbags.
