Mercedes Star Young Driver Program: Your chance to become an F1 driver!

As a part of the Mercedes Performance drive, the company today also unveiled its extremely exciting Star Young Driver Program for India. The racing talent spotting and nurturing program focuses on finding young racing talent in the country and preparing them for international races, all the way up to F1 if the candidates have the requisite talent.

The good thing about the program is that anyone can apply as long as he is between 15 to 25 years of age. The aspirants in the band of 15-18 need to hold a racing license, while those between 18 to 25 years of age qualify with a normal license.
Out of all the applications received, Mercedes-Benz and FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India) will shortlist 50 odd applicants, who after an evaluation process based on different criterions will be trimmed down to a total of 12 drivers.

The top 12 drivers will then be invited for a 2 day training and evaluation program at the Buddh International Circuit. The applicants will be tested for their speed, mental strength and the several other parameters. Top 3 drivers from the list will be selected for first the Advanced Training in Germany then the PRO training and finally the Masters SLS AMG GT3 Training.

Depending on the performance of the drivers, they will be made to race in the championships where M-B participates. Exceptional talent may even get a chance to lay his hands on an F1 car.

All the expenses for the training of the drivers will be borne by Mercedes-Benz.

So if you are an aspiring racing driver, you have to immediately log on to mercedesbenzperformancedrive.in , and register to have your shot!
