Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG broke the lap record to regain the top position of the fastest lap set by any production car at the Buddh International Circuit. The lap timing set at 2 minutes 14.521 seconds is the fastest by any production car. The SLS AMG was driven by ace German Driver and AMG Driving Instructor Norman Simon.

Among the highlights of the SLS AMG are its aluminium space-frame body, AMG 6.3-litre V8 front mid-engine with 420 kW (571 hp) and 650 nm of torque, seven-speed dual clutch transmission in a transaxle arrangement and aluminium double-wishbone sports suspension.
