It is a well known fact that China is among the most important markets for luxury car makers like Mercedes. Such is the demand for luxury cars at China that German manufacturers have been working overtime to come up with China spec models of their popular luxury cars.
Only recently, Mercedes Benz showcased the Mercedes E Class Long Wheel Base (LWB) facelift at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. Dubbed as the E Class L, the LWB model gets a more space for rear passengers.
Now, it has emerged that akin to the refreshed E Class, Mercedes CLA Class will also get a LWB variant for the Chinese car market.
It may be noted that Chinese luxury car buyers are, most often than not, chauffeur driven and hence, love to have more legroom at the rear. The E Class LWB facelift that we earlier talked about is longer by full 11 cms and all that extra length goes in to freeing up more leg space for rear passengers. Safely expect a similar treatment to be dished out to the CLA to ready the car for Chinese market.
