Mercedes-Benz India launches the C-Class C250 d, locally manufactured and priced INR 44.36 lakh

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the new Mercedes C-Class C 250d to their India lineup. The new C 250 d tops the M-B C-Class diesel range in India and sits above the C 200 and C 220 d variants. The new C-Class, which was also the World Car of the Year remains one of Mercedes-Benz’s highest selling models and a key product in its portfolio. The C 250 d will witness the commencement of local manufacture of the C-class to cater to the increasing demand and reduce the waiting period.

The new C 250 d lays claim to being the most powerful car in its segment, and also witnesses the introduction of the Mercedes-Benz 9G-TRONIC transmission for the model. The new Mercedes-Benz C 250 d is powered by a 2143cc, inline 4, turbocharged engine with a peak power output of 204 hp @ 3800 rpm and peak torque rated at 500 Nm @ 1600-1800 rpm. Capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in a mere 6.6 seconds, the C 250 d has an electronically limited top speed of 247 km/h. The C 250 d also boasts a commendable fuel economy figure of 19.71 km/l

In addition to those impressive performance numbers, the emissions levels of the C 250 d are claimed to be well below the regulatory limits. The car produces 30% less NOX than the stipulated limits and 60% lower particulate matter that the prescribed norms.

The new C 250 d features an all LED Intelligent Light System as standard. The ILS automatically adjusts the headlamps based on weather, lighting and driving conditions for ideal visibility in every situation. Variable low beam for country roads and motorways is supported with an active light function for significantly better illumination on bends. Luminosity of the brake lights varies according to the light conditions so as to avoid dazzling other road users.

The car also gets Garmin MAP PILOT fitted as standard, displayed via a 7” multimedia screen. The system is set on a SD memory card and displays instructions in the instrument cluster for the driver. The spoken instructions are issued through the built-in loudspeakers.

In addition the C 250 d also gets a reversing camera with 180° view, Attention Assist, Ambient lighting and Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC. The Ambient Lighting feature of the car gets three different colours (amber, blue and white) and five dimming levels. The C250 d rides on new 17” 5-twin spoke alloy wheels. Safety features on the C 250 d include ABS, BAS, ESP, ASR, Hill Start Assist, and PRE-SAFE.
