Only this week, Mercedes released their Superbowl commercial featuring a hare and tortoise for the AMG GT with a twist in the regular hare and tortoise tale. Now, according to a report, Mercedes-AMG GT India launch is scheduled to happen in March this year.
Powering the AMG GT is a newly developed 4.0 liter biturbo V8 mill that cranks out 462 PS for the GT and 510 PS for GT S variant. A more powerful Black variant is also on cards. Both the variants sprint to 100 kmph from standstill in under 4 seconds and have a top speed of 300+ kmph. The 4.0 liter V8 is coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an electronic differential which transmit the power to the wheels.
Upon its launch, the AMG GT will replace the gullwing door flagship-SLS AMG. For its construction, Mercedes has made generous use of aluminium and the car weighs around 1600 kg (kerb weight). The Mercedes-AMG GT will be priced anywhere between INR 2-2.5 crores for the GT and GT S variants.
