Putting a full stop to all the speculations that have been doing the rounds of the cyber space, Italy based automaker Maserati recently announced that it doesn’t intend to come up with a supercar based on the Ferrari LaFerrari.

It may be noted that the Maserati MC12 supercar is loosely based on the Ferrari Enzo and this gave rise to a rumour that the next supercar from Maserati could be based on the Ferrari LaFerrari, which is being touted as the successor of Enzo.

The announcement comes from Harald Wester, CEO, Maserati. It is being said that Wester said that no supercar, based on the new Ferrari LaFerrari, will wear the “trident” logos on its body anytime soon.

Powering the Ferrari LaFerrari is a 6,262cc, V12 engine that produces 800 HP of max power. The motor is mated to an electric motor that has a power output of 163 HP. Together, the two motors provide a power output of 963 HP. The car can accelerate to 100kmph in less than 3 seconds and has a top whack of 350 kmph.
