Maruti Suzuki has silently launched the Maruti Alto 800 VXi with Airbag. It may be noted that so far, only the Alto 800 LXi enjoyed an option of an airbag.

As can be observed, the airbag-equipped Alto 800 VXi commands a premium of INR 19000.
The Alto 800 hatchback, which replaced the high selling Alto F8, sports an entirely new design and has a larger cabin space and more features. Powering the car is a retuned version of the tried-and-tested 796cc F8D engine that has a max power output of 47.5 bhp (3.5 bhp more than the earlier iteration of the engine). The engine also benefits from 7nm of more torque. The Alto 800 boasts of an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 22.74kmpl.
The Maruti Alto 800, in the VXi trim, gets additional equipment such as central locking, door side mouldings, full wheel covers, an integrated stereo with USB and four speakers, a left-side wing mirror, a standard driver airbag and a rear spoiler.
