Maruti Suzuki Alto, thanks to its wallet friendly price tag and easy after sales services, had been the king of car sales chart of Indian market since quite some time now. However, with its very well sorted diesel motor and a Value for Money package, elder sister Swift has displaced the Alto from the top spot!
It is no secret that demand has always exceeded the supplies of the diesel variant of the Swift. Now, owing to the waiting period going down a fair bit and the all new gen of Swift hatchback exciting the buyers to a fair extent, the hot selling premium hatchback has become..well..hotter. 80% of the total bookings for the Swift accounts for the diesel variant.
It may be noted that the waiting period for the popular car has shrunk from as many as 7 to 9 months to 4 to 5 months. Also, Alto has been in the market since more than a decade now and it is about time Maruti brings out an all new model to maintain a one upmanship over modern rivals like the Eon.
