-Suzuki A:Wind interior

The Celerio is basically the production version of the Suzuki A:Wind concept that was unveiled last year and looks every bit a modern and well-styled city car. The interiors too are a reflection of the concept car’s interiors. Some hours ago, the first Maruti Suzuki Celerio interior image surfaced on the web space. This pic is from the good chaps at Overdrive and is of the top-end non-AMT ZXI variant.

As can be seen in the lead image, the Celerio’s cabin is high on both design and quality levels. The overall layout seems to be fairly simple, yet aesthetically pleasing. The top end ZXI variant will come with an in-built audio player that will be Bluetooth compatible and would be supported by steering mounted audio controls.

Unlike the A-Star, which has always been criticized for its claustrophobic interiors, the Celerio would offer decent ‘real-estate’ to its occupants. The slim front seats with the integrated headrests help with liberating quite some interior space for the rear occupants. However, it remains to be seen if the boot-size would be sufficiently more than that of the A-Star and if the Celerio would offer a comfortable ride to its occupants over long distances.

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be the 1.0 litre, three cylinder, K10B petrol engine that is high on refinement and fuel efficiency. For the AMT equipped variants, the Celerio would have an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 23.1 kmpl. The Celerio’s engine will have a max power of 67bhp and peak torque of 90Nm. It is being said that Maruti has worked hard on the NVH levels and for the non-AMT variants, the motor will come mated to a five speed manual gearbox.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more updates on the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
