Ahead of its launch this week, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS has started arriving at authorized dealerships. The model would be sold through the company’s ‘premium’ dealership chain, Nexa. Bookings for the Baleno RS can be made online through the Nexa website for an amount of INR 11,000.
The Nexa website has revealed the complete specifications of the upcoming Baleno RS. Colour options on the Baleno RS will be same as that of the regular model. These paintjob options include Ray Blue, Autumn Orange, Fire Red, Pearl Arctic White, Premium Silver, Granite Gray and Premium Urban Blue. The black paintjob, as seen on the Baleno RS test-mules, would not be available. The performance oriented version of the Baleno will be available only in the top-end Alpha trim.

Powering the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS would be a 1.0-litre three cylinder Boosterjet petrol engine. This turbocharged motor, mated to a five speed manual transmission, is capable of producing 101 bhp at 5500 rpm while the peak torque of 150 Nm is available between 1700-4500 rpm.
Visually, the Baleno RS will receive a few new features over the standard model such as a mesh grille, redesigned front bumper with sporty extensions, side skirts, blacked out 16 inch alloy wheels and a sportier rear bumper with faux honeycomb inserts. Also on offer would be disc brakes on all four corners. Once launched in India, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will rival the Fiat Abarth Punto and the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI.
