Maruti Suzuki officially launched the 2014 Alto K10 in India today with the price tag hovering in Rs. 3.06 lakh – Rs. 3.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) range. The list of variants got an addition of automatic manual transmission (AMT) option. At the heart of the Alto K10 is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder K-Series engine that produces 67.04 bhp and 90 Nm of torque.

With the 1.2-litre engine, the Datsun Go is the most powerful car in this comparison. However, the power out figure on the Datsun Go is similar to the Alto K10. The Hyundai Eon 1.0 is marginally potent with the power standing at 69 PS. The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is the only vehicle in the segment to come with an automatic transmission which gives it an edge over the competition.
In terms of dimensions, the Datsun Go is the biggest car among the three. It is also the heaviest car in the comparison at 925 kg. The new 2014 Alto K10 is the lightest car in the comparison with the AMT variant tipping the scale at 755 kg. The fuel tank capacity is more or less the same at 35 litres. The Eon has a slightly lesser fuel tank capacity at 32 litres.
In terms of prices, the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is the cheapest car in the comparison. It is also the cheapest automatic transmission available in the country. The Datsun Go is the second cheapest car in this comparison while the Hyundai Eon is the most expensive car in the lot.
