Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest selling car maker and the “king” of small cars in India, has finally launched the VXi top-end variant of the very popular Alto 800 A segment hatchback.
The Alto 800 hatchback, which replaced the high selling Alto F8, sports an entirely new design and has a larger cabin space and more features. Powering the car is a retuned version of the tried-and-tested 796cc F8D engine that has a max power output of 47.5 bhp (3.5 bhp more than the earlier iteration of the engine). The engine also benefits from 7nm of more torque. The Alto 800 boasts of an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 22.74kmpl.
The Maruti Alto 800, in the VXi trim, gets additional equipment such as central locking, door side mouldings, full wheel covers, an integrated stereo with USB and four speakers, a left-side wing mirror, a standard driver airbag and a rear spoiler. The Alto 800 VXI is priced at INR 3.36 lakh (Ex-showroom, Mumbai), which is just 15k more than the Alto 800 LXi’s selling price of INR 3.21 lakhs.
